Praline in D Minor

Praline in D Minor

A Chapter by Bare Bohemian
"

Seeing through the eyes of synesthesia for Selene's contest.

"
as my fingers dance upon
the keys of my baby grand
I see midnight colliding
with dawn and feel
hot fudge slithering
over vanilla ice cream

walking along a wooded trail
I hear daylight raining down
to kiss the cheeks of the trees
and I taste honeysuckle as the vines
climb into my eye sockets
plucking apples from my mind

the blue of the sky floods my mouth
with the flavor of raspberries
and my ears fill with laughter
as I watch clouds chase each other
while the bashful sun plays
hide and seek behind them

when darkness falls
I sit at my baby grand
and pound on the keys
letting my ears sink their teeth
into the rich nutty chocolate
of praline in D minor

You really have this great way of expressing yourself with words. It's fantastic.

being a huge fan of Praline... the rich river of brown that melts against my taste buds and sinks into pores that open to the cloying death that is rich but beyond my ability to enjoy more than once....

Praline in D minor.... Bachs Toccata and Fugue is perfect for this piece (Pachelbels canon is D major...no so deep that it reaches into this piece)

I really love this phrase

I like me some d minor too, used it in two pieces. The doors included, since Pachelbel's canon is usually in d minor. It is my favorite relaxation piece (and frankly more pineapple dipped in hot caramel than praline. Just sayin)

Reading your words makes my mouth water...I wonder if next time I look up at the blue sky I will taste raspberries remembering your poem. Sensational!

Gawd, I love that ending. "letting my ears sink their teeth into the rich nutty chocolate of praline in D minor". You are the most talented concluder the Cafe has ever known. Sometimes I just hold my breath to keep myself from panting for the last few lines. You never disappoint, my love.

Aside from my roaring urge to go to Baskin Robbins after reading this, I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to reading more from you
