Triple Perspective

Triple Perspective

A Poem by barleygirl
"

spewing from two warped minds . . .

"

Triple Perspective . . .
by Margie Willis (barleygirl)
& Robert Trakofler (bad bunny)

Sliders can either be riders or gliders
rarely are they strong swamp striders!
Horn-swaggled and bayou-boggled
sitting on a frog that’s highly-toggled
wondering why this log is goggled.
Dappled turtle takes us for a ride
perched precariously and leaning wide
during the ride I begin to dwell
on the hardness of my shell
he might be a dapper snapper
if so, I’ll be coming out his crapper!
More and more I’m left to ponder
if the payment for my blunder
will end up being his ferry’s plunder?

You, slider, are just a third wheel!
Our triplex plumbing is not ideal
no need to have a shell of steel
slime is not my preferred meal!
Upon your throne spewing your juice
while pondside dangers are profuse
waiting for you to slowly deduce
how to put geography to good use!
Up there you could watch for scoundrels
or pond scum with tacky flaxen tendrils
spine chills as freaky sneakbird trills
killer rats jesting as whippoorwills
we’re nearly gouged by condor bills!
Cease your exam of my bowels
skunks have made a stink of your vowels
we’re bombarded by swooping owls
gotta wipe down with toilet towels!

Pondering from all high up in here
catching a signal we need to steer
a sharp left as a growly gator veers
froggy just croaked out his a*s in fear
“we’re a crock’s delectable schmear!”
Pumping pungent scat from his rear
oh dear turtle, I do apologize . . .
“no worries, I also let some fly!”
Fresh scat scents wafting on high
and the condors smirk as they fly
rats synchronous swimming right on by
the snitching snail exclaims: “oh my!”
Roiling rats snatch up slimy scoops
of fresh spicy reptilian poop
flung far and wide in swirling swoops
by a rogue hankerin’ condor troop
girly gator leapt up all sleek and spry
nabbing tail feathers from the sky
leaving behind a too-pooped turtle
that being his penultimate hurdle
sashaying from this freaky food circle
gator slurps his rat-condor-turtle poop soup!

I asked Robert to help me think of something to write about this photo that
a friend posted on Facebook . . . and this is where things went awry!

It just hit me . . . this could be a political statement in disguise!

The allegories are magnificent, and this piece is the epitome of whimsy.
This is a tasty meal from two poets cooking in the same pot.

Bravo!

My pleasure, and thank you for the visit!
Try as I may or ever could, can't and won't pick phrases, couplets, areas, etc. more prevalent, potty or purty than others! Dear goodness little gods and fishes, what super glue have you used to put this absolutely stark crazy ride together! Love the language- fantastic 'imagining' and metre. Love the visuals I've managed (tho dangerous to health and home) to raise but. sending you my consultant's medical bill!

PS.. no bayous or gators in Dorset, only wee puddles and hungry thatchers!

good Lord in Heaven help us when you two get together ...you are the perfect match Barley Girl :))) poop poop poop and poo .. into the swamp soup .. iyiyiyiyi! nothing frilly about it is there .. have an unfulfilled goal of trapping and eating a snapper ... maybe your poem is a sign for me to get to it :))))))))) your poem together is seamless britches .. a romp with the animals of the Bayou ... we have a town nearby called Wolf Bayou ... there are neither wolf nor bayou anywhere in these mountains of the Ozarks .. go figure ..

missed ya ..glad your back! :)
Not your run of the mill Walrus, Carpenter and Clam story by a literary long shot you two kids!! Triumphant Collaborative Confluence of Margie and Robert proportions I say! The excremental journey of this terribly titillating triad is worth a deep dive into it’s on-point political metaphor. So wickedly, drolly, brilliantly funny! The meld of writing is seamless, deftly rhymed and filled with frolic. Great swampy imagery- rich with entertaining critters. The swamp has certainly not been drained, but rather oozes and pollutes more than ever! Collective Kudos to you both!

Light bellowed in my heart as I read through this wonderful literary work of this powerful duo.
Smile irradiated my face as my mind monitored the eye across the lines and rhymes.
Captured by the composition and the message passed across,
I think this piece worth an accolade.

Wonderfully written, Margie and Robert.
