RIP Timmy . . . for Norman223

For those (like me) who think of Norman223 fondly . . . an update:

Norman and Tricia have just lost their little canine companion, Timmy, who crossed the rainbow bridge after going blind and having daily insulin shots for diabetes. They will be getting their next dog soon.

Norman turned 88 last month and he’s doing well in terms of good health. After heart surgery earlier this year, he had been walking Timmy daily and getting back to his usual spry self. Tricia is delighted that her new improved kitchen will be unveiled just in time for her to leap into a holiday baking extravaganza.

Norm’s troublesome eyesight prevents him from visiting the café and it’s not easy to read messages or emails. That’s why I offer to extend any message you might want me to send along to him. Please write something in a review (here) or a private message. Then I’ll put everything together, so Tricia won’t have to open and read him twenty messages/emails.

Thanks for thinking of my friend fondly (((HUGS)))

My heart goes out to Norman and Tricia for the loss of dear little Timmy. Our lovely little dog Holly has just turned three and both Charlie and I pray we will have many more years of her companionship.

Glad Norman is doing well. A while back now, I read his poem 'There's always a snag,' which was wonderfully humorous and just shows the power of positive thinking.

Do give both Norman and Tricia, mine and Charlie's blessings.

Dear Margie. How thoughtful of you to let the Cafe friends know that my "abandonnment" of" the site was involuntary. Their replies and condolences were heartwarming and I will try to get back into the swing of silly, scintillating scribbling again. Having to rely mainly on voice assisted typing is a little daunting, but provided my speech pattern doesn't deteriorate before I'm 90, there's hope for my ambition to rewrite War and Peace with a Brexit theme.

Meanwhile a simple ditty from a simple mind:-

AN OCTOGARIAN'S ENIGMA
Eight eight is a wonderful age
Whichever way you view it .
Back to front, or upside down
You still cannot eschew it.
I viewed it as a mirror image
And still I couldn't change it .
A haitus, that needs another year
So I can re-arrange it.
This state can never be the same again
And no one cares, so I can't complain!!!

Fond regards to all
Norman

I couldn't stand the thought of losing something as dear as a lifelong companion. I suppose that is one of the reasons we never had a pet such as a cat or dog. As a child I had a dog who adopted me and my family, but his owner was a real P - - - -! Wouldn't even let us buy him. I hope Norman continues to get better and better and that he thoroughly enjoys his new pet. You are so nice doing this for him.
Take care - Dave

Thanks Bgirl. Please extend my condolences to Norman & Tricia for their loss. It is never an easy thing to put a beloved pet to sleep but at an advanced age it is quite often necessary. Tears still come when I think of the issues we had with Chip … our spaniel … operations to fight cancer until finally the old guy couldn't take it anymore.
Glad that Norman is OK.

Thanks again.

I am sorry that Norman and Tricia lost Timmy...during this year I lost my cat Elsie to cancer, she was 15. Tough to lose a part of the family....but glad to hear they will be getting a new dog soon....as I feel that is smart...I have Hank now, and she is a good kitty and good company...and hadn't seen Norman around for awhile so good to hear he is doing okay with his heart...
miss him...

I think of Norman all the time, wondering how he is, and I admit--worrying. As if there was ever a good time to lose a precious pet, this timing is terrible. I hope the impact isn't too great. I join with his other friends, here, in wishing him good health and balm for his pain.
