Dysfynction Junction

Dysfynction Junction

A Poem by barleygirl
"

a proposition that cannot be resisted . . .

"

Clear evidence you’re stone-cold crazy
but your nuts give me no compunction
a nose-pickin’ fool, but not a bit lazy
come join me at Dysfunction Junction.

If you’ll kindly tolerate my broccoli farts
I can overlook your overzealous unction
far as slapdash, we dish out equal parts
we’ll be a fine fit at Dysfunction Junction.

Years bouncing off so-called normal folk
will my heart ever find lifelong adjunction
romance spurts over my slap-cracked yolk
yowling the blues at Dysfunction Junction.

You’re losing it, let’s face the particulars
brainwaves behave with a pinball function
all your limbs done caught the perpendiculars
come thrive with me at Dysfunction Junction.

Sorry if I’m being an irresistible romantic
maybe I should slap you with an injunction
I take it you don’t feel one bit sycophantic
about being with me at Dysfunction Junction.

Dysfunction Junction. That's just where I've been for the past few weeks, but a certain guru, has indicated the correct path to follow. Thanks for that, Margie.
I still don't like broccoli, though, therefore retaliation is out of the question, so nuts to that.
Thanks for the laughs!!! (( Hugs)) Norm

Oh Bunny I would glady join you at Dysfunction Junction. I have a vision of multiple railway lines crossing in all directions, trains narrowly missing one another and yet despite it all, life goes on. This of course is how some people function daily. How their brains receive and transmit information and feelings. Life for some can be such a challenge. I love where you took me with this great rhythmic write and your noteworthy alliteration. Have a great day my bunny friend across the pond.

Barleys Junction, hmm... I have heard of this place. the corner of route placid and poetic passage right? I believe they are private arteries:) I have heard you can see a tree house there. the functions of your dysfunctions are pure confections of resurrections:)

If we could only easily blame our dysfunction on broccoli. Once upon a time I didn't like it. Had it once Stir fried and it completely changed my mind.. Friends do not appreciate the gaseous products of my liking it though.

Take care - dear friend - Dave

Well, if love poetry was more like this, we might not be so surprised when life actually ends up this way, haha.

The problem with love/relationships, I think, is that our expectations are set at the wrong frequency and people often pretend to be things they aren't to draw a person in. My advice to anyone thinking about cultivating a relationship is not to pretend you don't have broccoli farts--or, even better, don't pretend you're not an a*****e if that's your natural bent. A person can only keep up the charade for so long. And if the significant other doesn't like a******s or broccoli farts, trouble is not far off.

Humans are weird. I love your approach to this. We need more honesty in the conversation about love. Your poems are so fun, Margie.

You should be a song writer in Nashville, TN. If you can rhyme so well and come up with all those ideas, imagery and perspectives. You are something else; creative, unique in your style and encompassing. Even in serious subjects, you bring a smile on faces brightening up our world.

Looks like somebody spent too much time watching Schoolhouse Rock when younger.
Is there a poet worth their salt who hasn't spent considerable time in Dysfunction Junction? Thought I bought a one-way ticket years ago.
Now, about that train...

Wonderful rhyming proposition.
