Dog-a-tate

Dog-a-tate

A Poem by barleygirl
"

a holy canine mandate . . .

"

I used to lie down to meditate
until my dogs set me straight
issuing a holy canine mandate
calling all fingers to dog-a-tate.

Thus, a prime primate abdicates
as primal rubs she perpetrates
fingering fur in figure-eights
until each pooch divine-levitates.

Blustery snoop-snarfles resonate
ribs that my digits dog-a-tate
canine guts in a gurgle state
while spastic tails celebrate.

Should my finger-zeal fluctuate
a paw shoots up to demonstrate
how to mollify one’s doggie mate
and be body-language articulate.

Poor Margie, you are in want of a bit of peace and quiet on your bed and those two furries aren't gonna allow it. You will have to find somewhere else to go if you want to be undisturbed while meditating. I can imagine it, they won't leave you alone, expecting your undivided attention:)) Sounds as though Lola and Paloma have got you just where they want you.

I have just done a sneaky creep up the stairs to get away from Solo, who is also a huge attention seeker and won't leave me be, for a minute. Soon it will be walkies time and she will be at the foot of the stairs telling me to get a move on.

Don't we just love em?

Chris

there's a guy at the park with a jack russell terrier - chihuaha mix named 'buddy' - so smart and soothing. he deosn't miss a thing. we all love that dog and enjoy him - it is therapeutic and relaxing and takes our minds off of our own troubles for a bit. he's part of the family at the park. nice dog-a-tation here that i can attest to ... :)

Attempting to refrain from commenting on your milk bone . . . *wink! wink!*
Margie: This is really funny and clever. I love how your doggie set the standards here; now there's no real meditate is there??? I guess you'll just have to include him/her in your meditate or put her outside while you calmly do your own thing. Even on this simple little piece, you manage to create your own bubbly language which always amazes me! GREAT!

bad doggies! no nirvana for Margie:( but lots for the pups! Serves you right for not including them in your meditation:/ how terribly rude of you:) LOL I have to meditate behind closed doors or invariably my cat will start playing with my toes or pawing my leg to see if I am dead

They know that some lovin's will make everything better, huh? *smile* Fondly, Margie
Sometimes we just have to listen to our pets. I feel they know more about us and what we need than we think. Loved reading their body language with you. I think there's hardly any room for gloom when we're so tuned in to our furry friends. This made for a great, delightful read.

Thanks for a great review that shows me you can relate to my jail bait! *smile* Fondly, Margie
Even if the dogs interrupt you...they are part of nature and the universe. So maybe they know that! Maybe in a way they are helping you meditate! Dogs know peace more than we do!

Awwww- look at those sweet, snoozing puppers! They have you well-trained Margie. The musicality, and infectiousness (in a good way!) of rhyme and rhythm that perfectly accompany the precious pictures, are humorous and endearing. Yes, they are so “ body- language articulate”! And the “snoop-snarfles” always win the game. Love this doggy-tale and the idea of dog-a-tating. Pebs sends friendly woofs to Lola & Paloma!

Margie, I'm in awe of the way you can keep a consistent end rhyme throughout all four stanzas. Could it been the influence of your two canine Muses? Not that I would imply that doggie barks all sound the same, but I just wondered whether they might have exercised a subconcious influence. , Whoops! my senility is taking over now.:-)))
Great fun. but it reminded me that I still miss our old Timmy, as we haven't been able to replace him yet,so I have to make do with every dog we meet when we're out walking
