My Addiction

My Addiction

A Poem by beefjerky

I say to people addictions are lame
I say to them I'm not to addicted,
But one thing always in my mind
Is food.
The aroma sweet, spicy, and sour
Floating from my nose
Throughout me
While pulling me towards it.
It's shape, looking so delectable
The air around it so sweet,
The complete feeling it gives my heart
The taste, best of all.
I love food,
Can't live without it,
It's the best,
Can't doubt it!
A munch
And a crunch,
Questioning chewing,
As the warm
Heartiness flows like the Nile through me,
I look at the edible delicasy in my hands and think,
Why food? Even the internet a better addiction!

A humorous piece that takes a lighthearted approach to the not-so-humorous topic of addiction. I got the feeling that this piece was meant to poke fun at the people who claim to have one addiction after another. Very well done, in my opinion.
