Oven

Oven

A Poem by Beregond

your capability

won't be waiter elegant,
bend dainty delicate,
and present like fruit
or caviar

it won't wedge the doors apart
of your sexy
decision car
right at Perfect st.,
st. Perfect

it won't stifle your pain
with a curled flexed fist
a clenched cheek
and a purple pleasant twist,

or help to bear
the labor
of your lonely waiting room

it won't wait till you have
craved and longed and
finally licked and locked up tight
confident crazy svelte
curiously criminal
handsome dark
and tall

and rocked in darkness rocker
by your tomorrow window
puffing and purring and thinking
“this is Perfect”

your capability,
it will only
always be

you are always always
She

oven: hot

...see?

I can honestly say this is the first piece I've read on here and thought "I wish I could write that well." Amazing. Your style is so unique, unlike many "poets" floating around, and you have total command of the written word. I see a very bright future for you in writing. The best of luck to you in whatever endeavors you choose to pursue in the field - you'll undoubtedly find great success.

Also, I see this was from 2009. I hope this entry did indeed get approved for that lit mag. They would have been crazy not to accept it!
