Circles

Circles

A Poem by Bleda
"

The Road Taken

"

I’ve always thought that it’s just going to be me

Standing all alone by the window staring at an empty sea

But in a forest, a road forks out in two directions

And you come along and wonder what it feels like to be me

So we joyfully walked by the river all around in circles

I’d hold your hand when you felt lost and alone suddenly

And in that forest a road forked out in two directions

When I thought I was lost and alone, you followed me

You followed me

Down to where the undergrowth bent and curled

You followed me

Somewhere deep inside the chasms of the earth

You followed me

And we didn’t even have to pick a path

You followed me

In circles somewhere between forever and this world

Up ahead where rails and tracks weaved and warped

Sounds of children laughing reverberated in glee

That is where you stopped and held me so close to your heart

That is where my soul became your devotee

So we sat down to watch the moon change all her colours

As she blushed at the sight she looked down to see

And when the day was done, I started to walk alone again

When I thought you were already gone, you followed me

You followed me

Down to where the undergrowth bent and curled

You followed me

Somewhere deep inside the chasms of the earth

You followed me

And we didn’t even have to pick a path

You followed me

In circles somewhere between forever and this world

This is a song. Yes, it has a tune. I've sung it with my old band mates playing their instruments a few years ago. I wrote this in 2011. It's not too good, but it means a lot to me. :")

A song that not only comes from the heart but also the mind ... ' you followed me ' ... a statement so true and poignant it shows the surprise the woman felt ... thereafter ... thereafter ... she thought all that she did was true and beyond question ... Your words speak to the suppressed rages of men and heals them. Nicely done.

This is terrific; I can almost hear the music and it speaks to the music of the universe...the concept of eternity embodied in the circle. You hear things others will never know about. Thank you.

I'm glad you liked it, Sir. :)
Nice song.
It seems that Robert Frost came to inspire you for this lovely piece.
Your song captivated me and I enjoyed it very much.

Yes! Frost it is. :) I think I made it too obvious though. But thank you. :)
