Thank you for sending me a letter back. Getting that in the mail made my day. It's nice to know that somebody cares enough to spend 40-something cents on you instead of just an e-mail. It means so much more to see the handwriting and know the message is heartfelt.

You seem to be doing well, and it surprises me to realize you've already been gone two months now. Regardless, I continue to compulsively check my phone, waiting for you to text me--since you were the only one who ever did. I'm wondering how long that habit will stay.
