'Tal': Number Twenty-Eight

'Tal': Number Twenty-Eight

A Chapter by Kyari Hasutto

The simple issue of going to church in Hawaii became a problem. Your refusal to do so turned into a critique of everything wrong with the other person.

I don't know how we're still friends.

You don't find it at all impossible for you to be friends with AJ and me. How I disagree. You would infinitely prefer to hang out with her than with me. You rather make her happy. You rather have her make you happy. I'm convinced I've never been the one to be able to do so.

You said you'd be willing to try to improve on the "best friend" qualities I mentioned. The most important one? Time? Yeah, you just shrugged it off. But the point of all the other ones is that they involve time.

I think I keep trying because I see what potential our friendship could have (in non-romantic terms) but how little you want to put in to it.

The only reason you're still friends with me is because of circumstance and time. No other reason would bring us together--we have almost nothing in common.
