Harvest Moon

Harvest Moon

A Poem by outrider6

 Harvest Moon

Thinking of you and all we've done
And how it could all go wrong
We climbed mountains to see the sun
Our love sang to the stars, a new song

I knew it was real the day we met
On that express headed for hell
So innocent I was back then
So much to learn, to understand

Your friends laughed, you cried
I held you close that night
Helped you see right through the lies
My love for you felt so right

Through those months together
My love grew and grew
So real, it could never end
But then, but then....

We drifted apart, no real chance
Our paths took different roads somehow
You went your way
I went mine

Now we've reached these last few years
The harvest time of life
If you can, come back to me now
While the harvest moon rides high
Before we forget...how
