Waking Up Slow

Waking Up Slow

A Poem by Footprints al carbon
"

Hello, World!

"
At the break of day the child cries,
For light invades and disturbs the eyes,
Out of slumber so soft and sweet,
Awake and do the morning greet,
Smile not for a brand new day,
But wrestle now with a choice of way,
A call to rise and give some strength,
Some now and some all through life's length,
To hew the stone of heavenly goals,
To plant your garden on earthly shoals,
A restless soul without a vision,
Now prone before time in submission,
The first cumbersome task that lies at hand,
Is to start the clock of shifting sand,
Defeat the force of gravity's pull,
And hitch the cart of living full,
Pull it forth into the world's view,
Display a craft which is novel and new,
And if at first you don't succeed,
Recall that life takes faith, not speed.

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
