Beach Of A White Stream

Beach Of A White Stream

A Poem by Uche Paul
"

... I will choose my Africa as a substitute for heaven...

"
When the Lord will at last descend,
To gather his own by the sound of His voice:
I wish to hear, though amidst earthly noise,
I wish to be in line to with Him ascend
To the prepared shining residence
In glassy estate, paths of gold full of all joys
That wholly shames the world's turbulence;
Its theft of the green & negligence of the cowboys.

But when He comes & clothes me with white & wings
And say before the flight I should flee to where I please:
I will soar as beautiful eagles over hills
And jungles to spy Africa's beauties:
Green leaves, mountains and all tall trees
That borders the boundaries of fountains
And by the little beach of a white stream
I will pitch a tent of leaves where I'll lie & fall asleep.
