Daffodil Heaven

Daffodil Heaven

A Poem by Brenda Sue
"

Mostly written while sitting in the recovery room with my little girl after she had had minor surgery. She giggled as I recited some of the lines to her.

"

Fairies sprinkling magic fairy dust knee-deep
Waking the daffodils from a long winters sleep
Beautiful daffodils of yellow, gold, and white,
Opening up and smiling for the world's delight

Fairies and daffodils dancing with the daisies
Creating sweet dreams for all the little babies
Looking for Easter eggs, bunnies and butterflies
Celebrating Springtime with such a surprise

Fairies opening our eyes to this our heirloom
Magic in the air as the flowers begin to bloom
Glorious trees encircled by daffodils and daisies
Rain and wind whispering sweet little praisies

Fairies sprinkling magic fairy dust around like a maven
Spreading love and joy of a daffodil haven

This is just delightful and leaves the reader with a lighter spirit, and that is always a good thing. I thought the rhyme was very creative. I also admire the vivid imagery portrayed here. What I would call lovely sensory descriptions that bring this poem alive with "daffodils dancing with daisies" Just lovely. My favorite lines were:

"Fairies and daffodils dancing with the daisies
Creating sweet dreams for all the little babies
Looking for Easter eggs, bunnies and butterflies
Celebrating Springtime with such a surprise"

I suppose it isn't hard to guess that I was born in April and have always loved daffodils and springtime. This poem resonated with me and I truly enjoyed reading it.
