Reflection

Blueness into an empty ocean
Fly through the sky pigeon!
Your sky is the face, and mirror the sea
Reflection you got to look down and see!

 

Wherever you go over with wings to flow -

Throughout your life, either high or low!

When ripples get formed in the sea below -

Actions are recorded, neither fast nor slow!

 

Thought for the people around you,

With care at heart you walk and view!

Such people though, in this world, very few.

Heed, if you have yet not done your due!

 

Benevolence and Charity -

You twine with your tour!

And get Peace and Prosperity �"

When their sorrow you scour!

 

While you neglect your rightful business,

Fellowmen you leave, and run for the self -

It is not a curse that pulls you down -

But the dreaded hands of misery himself!

 

Life is a mirror, one event or the other!

Reflection of deeds, you get in same feather!

Good you act, or evil you throw

Fate! Brother what you reap is what you sow!

Meaning of some words/phrases, as I thought, while writing the poem:

"pigeon" - represents a normal human being, with aspirations, aim and resources
"tour" - represents the work/business for earning money/livelihood
"rightful business" - actual duty of serving the society
"get in same feather" - paid back in same terms

Lovely, insight filled, poem! We do indeed tend to reap what we sow in all aspects of life. A bountiful harvest can only come from sowing healthy seed and nurturing it to maturity. To have true friends I must first be a friend. To receive compassion I must show compassion to others, and so on.

I love your metaphors and think your 'Author's Note' is quite helpful for those who may not know the relevance of the words you wisely chose to use. Very well done!

Some people just walk through this world thinking everything they see belongs to them. They take some things and people for granted. I like the metaphors you use to repersent what you are writing about.
