Missing you

Missing you

A Poem by Drako

Days like today are when I miss you the most

I miss your laughter, your smile, your humor

I miss the love we shared

The time we had was so much shorter than we could have known

the loss of you was so sudden

I remember still the crushing pain of your passing

I remember that look in your eyes before the last of your life faded away

You, my one true love

The one who was always there

The one who forgave so easily

Lost in a moment of violence unwarranted

So here I sit, reflecting on another failure

wishing with all my heart and soul that you were still here

that I'd never had to go through this pain

I love too hard

Love is all consuming for me

and letting go is the hardest part

I try to move on but the problems remain the same

I question how much is because of them

and how much is really my fault?

Perhaps missing you is my real problem

Perhaps this puts the wedge between me and everyone else

Though I try not to compare others to you, perhaps deep down I do

Perhaps they don't measure up

Perhaps I feel I deserve to be alone

No matter the reason, one thing remains the same

I'm here alone missing you
