dance of the demons

dance of the demons

A Poem by blackheart
"

dark poem

"

the mirror shows my face no longer young

broken shards of glass lay at my feet

the taste of warm blood on my tongue

no wine could ever taste so sweet

alone in the darkness I face my nightmare

their sweet burnt flesh I forever smell

haunted by phantasms I know not from where

torturted souls forever trapped in my own hell

the moonlight shines through my windowpane

revealing the demons that dance before me

they take me and my screams are all in vane

I am trapped here and there is nowhere to flee

might be a little more impactful if you capitalized whee needed, but aside from that this is a well written dark poem. great job.

I thought this was a very good poem. I am not typically drawn to darker writing such as this poem, but I was impressed. It made me really think about the message, and the descriptions are detailed. I also felt some sorrow for the character telling his/her story. Thank you for sharing your writing with us.
