Life at 40

Life at 40

A Poem by sette

Life begins at 40.

As the cliché goes,

When I turned 40,

I am nearing another goal

And that is to be a golden girl.

What life has been

For the past forty years?

I can describe it as,

Like riding a carousel and

Roller coaster at the same time.

I have loved and  been lied to,

I have been cheated for the nth time.

I have been fooled for countless times.

But still,

I have lots to be thankful for,

I have my supportive family,

I have my loving child,

I have my friends

And most of all I have God

Beside me and always.

hopefully my friend, hopefully
Good job of showing the contrasts of life . . . seems the lovelife scenarios are one thing & the true love scenarios another . . . balancing out in the end, hopefully. Enjoy your straightforward approach to this celebratory milestone. After 40, the milestones get quite a bit less distinct, I think! *smile* (I'm 61). Love your poem & your artwork (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

thanks it is so far like a roller coaster where emotions are concerned
forty isn't old,
you got a long way to go, so enjoy the ride.
Perhaps you should write a book about it , I see one in there.

When you get as old as I am you think 40 is quite young lol.... you will always have God beside you no matter what happens as the years roll on. Just enjoy each moment as it happens :)
