a good deed

a good deed

A Poem by sette

One good deed

a day brightens up

my life,

the joy I felt inside,

is simply immeasurable.

I just hope that the day comes.

I can help more people.

by then I will know,

I have served my purpose

in this world.

I agree dear friend. Martin Luther King Jr. said. One act of kindness would bring peace to our world. A wonderful and positive poem shared. I did like.

I couldn't agree with you more! Doing something that helps another, or makes someone smile, this helps distract me from my own misery, living with constant all-over pain. Reviewing here at the café is what I do for ME, more than for the other writers. My day is brightened when someone is encouraged by a review of mine. I love the straightforward way you say this. Very persuasive, I hope many will make it a habit! (((HUGS))) fondly, Margie

Indeed it gives immense pleasure to help any needy. And like you said the joy "is simply immeasurable."

Better to give than receive
Getting what you want is not as satisfying as helping someone in need
That's a feeling that can't be explained in words

Spoken like the good samaritan that you are, sette. A thing of beauty is a joy forever. And that thing of beauty is the purity of one's heart, the willingness to do good unto others without any expectations. You make your point well.

Best,
M.
