one rainy day

one rainy day

A Poem by sette

One rainy day,

I stood  outside the house,

Mesmerized by the droplets

And the sound of rain falling.

At that moment,

I want to shout,

How on earth all this happen at once,

And  I want to cry at the same time!

After a few moments…. Amidst the rain pouring heavily

The silence in my heart so surreal.

Softly, I just whisper,

To hell with this rain,

Have survived a lot of storms

So what have I got to lose?

i must admit, rain fascinates me. i think a lot of life decisions have been in storms - they have a way oc cutting into truth. i like the message and presentation. very deep and thought provoking. well done ... :)

The way you mixed rain, and storms and tears and many emotions were so wonderful and beautiful. It was very uplifting and creative.

Wow beautiful and appealing how you blended the rain and storm with tears and life storms so creatively in musing. Soulful and positive notes at the end. Kudos!!

There is something special about the rain. It comes in so many forms. It can be, as you show, very frustrating, but here are so many other times when it has a special beauty. The swirling waves of it as it is whipped by the wind, the gentleness in Spring as it brings the green to the leaves on the trees still dark from winter. I remember summers, as children, when we danced, often in just our underwear in the soft droplets.

My favorite part of this poem is your ambivalence. I can't tell if this narrator loves the rain or hates it. Being from California where we live in drought most of the time, I feel joyous & alive on those rare times when it rains, the way your poem sounds at the start. But later, when you show that rain is not a friend to this narrator, I love how you show the sassy spirit of shirking the rain's dampening effects (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

and sometimes we find that our tears are matching the rain.
and we feel at home in it.

Survival. That's what we all have to face. We are living in tough times and the virus continues to heap its misery on our day to day living. Just one of the storms to trouble us. Of course there are so many more. We have to find resilience settle. Relatable writing. Rain is refreshing at times.
