The Mothers I know

This is a poem for Mother's Day

The mothers I know work extremely hard

and on this day, deserve more than a mere card.

They love their children no matter what,

even when they deserve a kick in the butt.

They make the lunches, clean the messes--

deal with all kinds of stresses.

They sacrifice their happiness for that of a child,

which is why this is the time for moms to go wild.

They shine their light like rays from the sun,

even on those days which aren't so fun.

The mothers I know are very clever,

which is how I know they will keep my love forever.
