What if I told you

What if I told you

A Poem by TheThaumaturge

What If I Told You

that you are amazing?
That you have infinite worth?
That you have never gone beyond the reach of our God?
If you have killed, destroyed, hurt, or tortured someone
That his light is still in your eyes?

What if I told you that you are a leader?
The someone cares about your feelings and opinions?
That no matter what you've been through
Someone is able to understand and be by your side?

What If I told you that you could move a mountain?
Yes, the one right beside your home.
I didn't ask how big it was, or how small it seemed
But that I told you that you could move it.

It doesn't mean you will
I am still to decide that I want to move a mountain
To decide that I have such great self-esteem and faith in God
That I could move a mountain.
But I certainly could
If I wanted to.

So how about if you start wanting?
To start wanting to believe that you are amazing?
That you have never gone beyond His light's reach?
That you could move the mountain right next to you?
That you are loved through all and unconditionally
By someone greater than us all?

Our own selves.
