Words for her

Words for her

A Poem by breakthebrokenone

She asks for validation
Screams it at the top of her lungs
It's the same old story
Make her feel pretty
God knows she needs a little word of hope
To keep that insecure heart from breaking
Because she doesn't feel pretty.

At five foot three
She wishes for legs as tall as her dreams were
For a face as fair as mine which she envies
Little does she realise that she doesn't need validation
She needs a heart filled with love
So maybe people will want her around.

But she lies there at night
Confused and alone
Because the leading lady of our story
Tries so hard to be beautiful
That she lets bitterness take over
And jealousy run her.

And I hope she wakes with a vision
Filled with capability to cut the resentment
And become happy.
