Feelings

this poem was written a couple of days ago whilst I was in the midst of a deep and dark depression.

I just want to scream

But my throat restricts the sound

I feel the noise

Scratching at my vocal chords

Causing more pain than is required.

I want to feel whole

But there is a hole 

That digs deeper into me 

Than the people can see

Blind to my torture

Blind to my defeat.

The burning never ceases

The bleeding refuses to stop

I’m going down again

Falling deeper and deeper

Harder and harder.

I can’t escape my demons

I can’t out run them 

They are hot on my heels.

I have tried to be free

Swimming across the lines

Where one ocean meets another

Yet it keeps us divided.
