Death

Death

A Poem by Latifa
"

it's suppose to be my first TANKA, I hope you like it

"

there is no comfort
in sightless soliloquy,
bones pillowed in dirt
with tickling inflicting worms
and bleak silhouttes of woe.

Author's Note

Latifa
I visited my grandpa's grave today and I just had some contemplation on death and how mysterious it is.
How can someone that you knew so well can just leave and perish and we'll all have to face it too.

I'm not familiar with that style of poetry, but it was very captivating. You drew me in. It definitely was dark, but that's my favorite style of writing. Great job. A+

This Tanka is quite good. Makes sense yet mysterious. Great job. The death I'm most familiar with is of the extremely violent Variety. I never found it particularly mysterious nor did I see any beauty in any of it. Often it was instantaneous and it was easier to deal with if it wasn't someone from my Platoon. Sometimes it didn't turn out that way. This really is a good Tanka though. My experience with death doesn't have anything to do with yours. I recognize that. Keep writing Latifa. You do have skills.

Nailed like a punch from a champion boxer. What a wallop!

Thanks for inviting us to this very personal write. Really enjoyed reading. Yes death is mysterious and it will remain, as long as we are alive.

This was so sad, and I know what you mean, there is not a lot of comfort in being near someone's grave. If anything it is a reminder that the person you once loved is gone. Vivid imagery in here made it all the more powerful. Great work. I have never done a tank myself.

Powerful words and description. Artwork and words. Told a story about death and the ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
