Crystal Sea

Crystal Sea

A Poem by Shapeshifter

The stars crawl on hands, bent knees
At the foot of the sun, weeping tears of diamonds
Falling and fading into the vast ocean
A new celestial birth, mother gives life
Life and death in one mind
One consciousness, she breaths and it is so
A betrayal of soul, retiring the creator into speachless abandon
Grasping for earth, but there is none
He calls to her, but no answer is formed
On the edge of the world, where spirits are born
Violently thrashing he sits in the midst
Of rubies and emeralds, gold fingertips

Very poetic. I like the evocation of grand forces at work. It has a feeling of mythology about it. In fact have just been dipping into the Icelandic sagas and the your poem sets me in mind of them, especially your last three lines. The edge of the world was a mesmerising place for the Nordic folk.

Wow. I could sit in this piece all day. It's so wonderful, hanging out up there with the stars and diamonds. I can see this Crystal Sea definitely becomes the narrator... as he dangles in the universe on the edge of it all. Absolutely beautiful.

Great imagery and personification...I love the idea of the stars weeping beneath the sun...brilliantly created. The flow of the piece was quite nice as well.

I got the almost tangible feeling of futility in grandeur on this one. Raw, yesss, very interesting, Your metaphors pack a punch and yet, are elegantly crafted to express everything and leave nothing behind. Bravo!!

About
I consider myself and old soul knowing things I can't yet explain. I take it slow and stare past the surface where all things are eventually revealed. I plan to use this new energy for good, (maybe).... more..
