Treasures

Treasures

A Poem by Bri-lynn
"

heartbreak and tender thoughts

"
  1. shots of whiskey and gulps of wine-
    oh, god-
how I wish you were mine....
    foggy mirrors and filling lungs-
your smile's got me so high strung-
    I'm about to snap.
    collapse.
lose myself in the maps that are stretched across your skin.
I can almost see the islands,
the pure waters that consume you,
your eyes highlighting the speckled sand with happy blues and
    bright green hues of bamboo.
    cigarettes and gin-
your tide pulls me out again-
just as soon as I had gained my footing,
    I feel your tender touch looting my heart;
tearing the treasures in my chest apart.
    but, I don't care.
I just stare and watch you pull me from my hinges,
watch you strike the match and burn down all of my bridges.
    marijuana smoke and sunshine-
you could rip me to shreds-
and I would still want you to be mine.
