Sunset

Sunset

A Poem by Phil Sanders
"

Reflective thoughts ....

"

Sunset is a time for reflection …. mellow thoughts
Working out the day …. and how its run its course
Letting all the worries of your life unfold
Speaking in your mind the stories yet untold
Watching the reflections of that ball of fire
As it sets so quickly … ready to retire
Just as in our lives we reach our own twilight
Thinking of the things we’ve done … were we wrong or right?
No recriminations … no retrospective yearning
Just a time to meditate … the last process of yearning
A time to understand … what we did and why
A time to pass to others … the lessons of our time

This is very similar to thoughts I having a few minutes ago minus the sunset part. In fact, I started a poem and then I decided to scrap it because I need to stay focused on my book. LOL

I agree totally, we live, we learn, (hopefully) and we give thanks for that and go on our way.
Beautiful thoughts this morning, Phil. :+)

Sunset a time for reflection - a time to say fare-well to the past and prepare for a new day, new thoughts, new begnnings when the sun rises again.

We learn by our experience, and sunset each day gives the opportunity to reflect, to wonder and to accept as well as learn.

Sunset, those special moments when the heart is rested and the soul smiles.

Sunset the gift of beauty to the world and a promise of tomorrow.

A beautiful poem Phil well done

That was pretty interesting on how you've written the concept like that. I can't really argue with this writing at all

So, all is good...

Love The Sunset. and living 10 mins from the beach don't have to go far to see one. It is a calm place, a reflective and poingant place, a palce to escape. And having water their to cast your cares on is an added bonus. A very nice peice of work here

Like my mom used to say..too soon old and too late smart..I think we all reach a certain age when we sit and look backwards and wonder if we should have turned right when we turned..WRONG! I know that I would change many things that happemed in my life if God would give me the chance..All but my love for HIM>>God bless...Valentine

You really captured the reflective nature that a sunset can bring to our soul. A wonderfully written and meaningul poem!

This really put into words how reflective I, too, become witnessing the sunset. I live in California, and often walk to the beach and watch the sunset into the Pacific Ocean, and the comparison you draw between each sunset and the unfolding of our own lives is really well done. I really love it!
