Just a Friend

a girl that i like that i can’t be with. for lots of reasons.

you are so stunningly beautiful
and out of my reach
you have an immaculate mind &
curves round like a peach

and that fierce violet hair..
in my dreams we go everywhere
and every inch of you
is running through my thoughts..

what is it about your name-
that it becomes permanently stuck in my brain?
like a stain that won’t go away..

what is it about your flair-
that causes me to melt and
let go of every care?

what is it about you thats so neat
that causes me to be fixated
and makes my heart skip a beat..
when i see you?

something about those old golden locks
and something about the way you walk
something about the way you smile
that causes me to be at a loss for awhile

something about you gives me life!
sparks my mind and ends my strife!

something about you i can’t place my finger on..
something about you keeps me holding on..
something about you makes me wonder why..
i wonder why i even try?

some thoughts about you give me grief
like how you won’t chance on me
even though my fondness of you measures beyond belief

do you think of me sometimes?
do you think of me in rhymes?
i often think of you my friend
you will always be in my thoughts until the end
