Using An Umbrella (In This Circumstance) Is Useless

Using An Umbrella (In This Circumstance) Is Useless

A Poem by Ruminating Archaeologist
"

1:15 a.m., 9/25/11; 4:36 p.m. same day; 12:10 a.m., 10/1/11

"
holding my own hands to my cheeks
singing, "please help me, please help me",
a six word mantra monotone
in a useless state of mind
feel like gravity is pulling me down
tugging at my ankles
the space junk is going to land soon
crashing down in burning hunks of iron
unsuspectingly

holding my own palms out in front of me
muttering, "why does it repeat?",
a four word sentence like a cadence
engraved into an old vinyl record
feel like the atmosphere is scorching
up my lungs into cinders
the satellite is going to crash soon
landing in a mass of flaming metal
unknowingly
