New Perspective

New Perspective

A Poem by Bailey Gray

The sun wasn’t golden and shining today

It was shades of swirling grey

I couldn’t feel the warmth of its rays

The grass and trees did not sway in the breeze today

They stood with utter stillness

I couldn’t feel the cool winds on my face

The mountains did not catch my eye today

They seemed distant and unreachable

I couldn’t appreciate their majesty

My world was black and white today

I found beauty in the colorless

I discovered a new perspective

Let go of the perception that dull means a lack of allure

Let my mind wander to new reaches of reality

Not all that lacks luster is imperfect
