The Abyss

The Abyss

A Poem by C.J.G.

It's just, I love you so much,
but you cant hear me.
I want you so deeply,
but you can't feel me.
I desire you core,
but you devour my soul.
It is a truth
that's no less true than my being,
but you are no being,
and with you that is all I am.
You've disassociated me from myself long enough.
It is quite enough.
They say if you love something,
you have to let 'em go.
So please, my love,
just let me go.
Why don't you feel my ache?
Why don't you feel my call?
I was looking for truth - oh, what an infinity,
but all you show me now is despair -
the deepest and darkest of emotion.
Why does it feel so real?
An illusion I'll forever be disillusioned by.
Goodbye, my love, I will miss you always
and forever.
So kill me now,
because isn't that what it's come to?
Eat me alive,
because I want to wallow in your depth,
but it's too deep,
and it's too dark,
and I'm afraid,
with this one last breath,
I'll be lost forever in your abyss.
