Moon

I look up,
A tear slips from my eye,
I envy it so much.

I want to shine like the moon,
Be as beautiful as it.
To be able to light up,
The darkest of darkness,
While I stand between,

Day and night.

If only I could,
Reach out and touch it,

Only then would I feel right,
But that will,
Never be able to be,

But,
What would it feel like,
I wonder?
Would it be warm or cold,
Would it be like powder,
Or hard like a rock?

I can only dream.
But maybe someday,
I will be able to be,
Brighter than the moon.
I will be between day and night,

Maybe one day I will be,
Brighter and more beautiful,
I will step into my world,
My world of light,

I can hope to be a sun,
Yes a sun would be better.
But I could get lost in the dark,
Since I have no light of my own.

But,
The moon will always be,
There to guide me.
