Puzzle Of Us

Puzzle Of Us

A Poem by A.Lee

Strange how quickly we forget
Where all the little pieces went
The place from whence we came before
Now locked behind the heavy door

We're so distraught by all the sadness
So taken back by all the madness
We look around with empty hearts
At the puzzle of us that's come apart

But we can mend our shattered souls
Arrange the pieces to fill these holes
And once we start we'll realize
How we were blinded by all the lies

We thought our lives were fading fast
But we have the power to make them last
Remember the pattern of the puzzle we had
Before it was broken and we felt so bad

Slowly but surely we'll mend ourselves
Hang our finished pieces back on our shelves
Then we'll have pride in what we have become
And cherish the day that we finally won

Wonderful rhythm and rhyme to this piece. Such a beautiful message within vivid imagery. You metaphor was indeed accurate and well worked out. I particularly like the third stanza, it really shows the strength and dedication of humans to fix themselves when they realize their flaws or that they're falling apart. The opening stanza really drew the audience in, I especially liked the image of the heavy door, very vivid and blunt. Well done.

Even after being away for so long, I still get a good feeling from reading your work. You never fail to provoke my mind as do most of the other writers on here as well. I enjoyed reading this piece. I loved the message behind it and it all came out quite steadily.

I L.O.V.E the rhyme, I think it really did wonders to the entire piece. The theme is beautiful and you define it with perfection. Well done.

Beautiful work of art! well written and loved it. This is something that most couples can relate to. I love the fourth stanza, especially
We thought our lives were fading fast
But we have the power to make it last...

Wow, this is beautiful, I can relate to this, and I've seen it happen to so many people I know. Sometimes we tend to forget the small things that made us who we are today, the old friends we used to hang with, the small town that we came from. I love the story behind this piece as well as the structure of the poem, awesome write!!!!

I enjoyed the ending the most, and the entire poem was written very well. - "And cherish the day that we finally won" This message comes across to me as to never give up, and just pick up the pieces. Thanks for sharing! :)

Beautiful! The rhyme and flow were both flawless. Wonderful imagery and great idea. I love the uplifting end, and how everything just worked so perfectly- all the stanzas are brilliant in their own right and then they come together to form this great piece.
