Break

I am breaking

Tearing heart and soul to shreds

A mind so riddled with confusion

Where all that's felt is fear and dread

 

Every night

They steal the sleep my body needs

Hiding, lonely, in the dark

They cause the wounds I've healed to bleed

 

And while I fight

I know they have the upper hand

I know I'm trapped in an iron grasp

I'll drown before I get to land

 

Each move I make

Sends poison coursing through my veins

And I can't figure out a way

To somehow ease this searing pain

 

I need someone

To tell my brain to make me breathe

To pull the blindfold from my eyes

So I can see where I should be

 

I'm taken over

These thoughts reach out to grasp my mind

Oh endless fight

I cannot leave this world behind...
