The Stranger

The Stranger

A Poem by cad

He came from nowhere.

He had no hat, no coat, no shoes.

He had nothing.

He knew no one and no one knew him.

He slept nowhere.

He had no blanket, no pillow, no things at all.

He had nothing.

He couldn’t find sleep and sleep couldn’t find him.

He ate nowhere.

He had no food, no money, not even anything to trade.

He had nothing.

He couldn’t get food and food couldn’t get him.

He died nowhere.

He had no name, no age, no real existence.

He had nothing.

He couldn’t find anything, but death found him.

He died everywhere.

He had no friends but everyone came to his burial.

He had no possessions but people left things in his memory.

He had no existence but people remember him.

He couldn’t find sleep but sleep finally found him.

And suddenly, he had everything.
