Doomsday Downfall

Doomsday Downfall

A Poem by Caio Emmanuel
"

An appocaliptic view about the wars of the human kind.

"

Can you survive it? Can you withstand?

Can you keep swimming in this quicksand?

Can you breathe all this heat from Hell?

We all have secrets, but can we tell?

We all got costumes for this Halloween,

Unending tyranny from an undying Queen,

An extreme snowstorm of rage and grief

Burry your secrets, you’ll have to disbelieve

Tomorrow comes, and both sides of war will cry

The hope and all those people, did they really have to die?

Tomorrow’s gone, and the Earth will be cut apart

Where is my Phantom? They took my heart

Can you not scream? Can you not cry?

Can you be real, or you just want to lie?

Did your love bladed, before her death?

What has she told? What has she left?

What have they told, why do they fight?

They drank up darkness, claiming it was light

They’re desperate souls, that made a vow

But to keep to their words, they don’t know how

We’re all crying, bleeding, dying, why we struggle

Against their will? They’re pure, they’re noble, they’re made of steel

We got the cage, they got the key, they have, we want,

They have our need.

Tomorrow comes, the Grounds will shake

Can you tell me what’s real, what’s fake?

Tomorrow’s gone, we’ll be alive

Feel lone and sorrow, just by looking at the sky

Can you please help me to save yourself?

I’m here, I’m left, there’s no one else

Give me your hand, and let it be

But don’t you ever take it away from me

Author's Note

Caio Emmanuel
I wrote this in a day that I was really pissed off, and got a very good inspiration by that movie "Child of Men" then I just sat and wrote it. I have modified it several times because of it's rythm, and I even modified it for a fried to turn this into a song. This is the last, longest, version.
