Transient

Transient

A Poem by Carissa Marie

I miss you. How could I not?

When the morning sun reminds me of your warmth
As you wrap your arms around me, keeping me close
With my heart beating fast
Like a hummingbird flying with the wind.

When all the songs remind me of your gentle voice
Calling out to me softly,
As I lay asleep in bed,
Your voice awakens not only my body but my soul.

When the stars show me the same twinkle in your eyes,
Staring deep into mine,
With your intoxicating smile
Silently sending me signals of your affection.

I miss you. How could I not?

When the morning sun turned to an eternal eclipse,
Leaving me cold, with your arms out of my reach
And my heart slowly reaching a full stop,
Like a bird that forgot how to fly.

When all the songs remind me of how your voice sounded,
Back when it was still calling out to me.
As I wake up alone in bed,
It's only silence that greets me.

When the stars no longer twinkles for me,
As your eyes are forever lost from my gaze.
I am intoxicated,
Longing for your affection.

I miss you. How could I not?
For I have loved you.
But you have not.

It hit somewhere deep. The way you've written this is beautiful. It perfectly gives voice to that depressing feeling.

Wow. I definitely got the feels. Beautifully written, great rhythm, and great imagery. Good stuff.
