Was it the joy of their company
Releasing the dopamine
And the thrill of the high speed

Or was it the passing of time
In which together we would ride
And the loneliness we no longer could feed

Together we settled for less
To unburden our weighted chest
And fill the vacant void

But now we should know better
To push through the weather
And not to hastily employ

Well written, nice rhyme word choices. I like the style, nicely done.

Choose in haste, repent at leisure comes to mind here Broken Soul. Far better to take time, but then that doesn't always work out either. The romance business is a mine field. Always will be. Enjoyed this well crafted poem. Gave me some memories.

the thrill of the chase...the high speed romance...
jumping into the car without reason...
that was in the old days, but now we have learned through our mistakes...
push through slowly and love with more care.
nice metaphor here,
j.
