Boundless Boxed Sky

Boundless Boxed Sky

A Poem by Cari Lynn Vaughn
"

A Meditation on Drinking and Depression

"

Boundless Boxed Sky

To taste the burn

and feel the sweet death

my infatuation will return

Flying beyond my strife

in a boundless boxed sky

A dull and dreamless life

too tired and worn out to cry

I'm sure many consider drinking to be an infatuation until vice sets in--so I like that line.

The last line puts it all into perspective. There are no rewards nor consolations in this act. The show becomes a never-ending scene of sadness.

Nice writing.

"Boundless Boxed Sky" is a great and effective image. ETOH can make one feel great for a while, but in the end it is a road that goes nowhere.
