Men Like Us

Men Like Us

A Poem by Carlton Carr
"

"
Men like us
have lost our souls
stoned and hustling
we throw away our futures
with our past
and hope at least
our dreams will last

We use our bodies
as a ransom
our smiles and frowns
are treason
travelling alone
we share brief touches
and sometimes love
for one short season

Men like us
walk with carnal gods
and lie with strangers
love junkies getting kicks
from unknown faces
holding each other
in secret places
flirting with lust
and all its dangers

I remember like it was yesterday, good times, but love is hard to find...:) I used to wonder if it is possible for 2 men or women. The queens I used to know were alone and bitter, but feel true love is for all no matter who we love. Splendid read and write.
