SCARRED

SCARRED

A Poem by Lost

my body is scarred
thick pink and white
bumpy raised tissue
along my hip
and through my thigh

I am marked
my patchwork skin
has cigarette hickeys
where I pressed the cherry in
I’ve been kissed by fire
long, slow, and passionate

these marks of residual pain
are proof that I’ve lived
I wear my heart on my sleeve
and my hurt on my skin

This is raw, deep, heartfelt and so sincere. You are human dear lost. And I feel your pain and your heart beat strongly. Great poem that speaks out loud and clearly. And I was listening.

Lost just because we are scarred does not make us any less valued. We are all worth a whole lot.
