Out With the Old, Ring In the New

Out With the Old, Ring In the New

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

A New Year Poem for all of you

"
Farewell to the dying year.
Ring in the new, what will it bring?
Will the road ahead be sunny,
laughter filled, all milk and honey
or will sorrow from the past months
follow on and linger still?

Let the pipers pipe their tidings.
Let the revellers sing in gladness.
Let the fireworks splash their sparkle,
'neath the brilliance of the moon.

Cast aside all thoughts of darkness,
sweep those shadows ever waiting,
waiting for a Diva's entrance,
lurking, silent, wrapped in gloom.

Let the moments of the New Year
raise all hope and expectation.
Peace and love for every nation.
Sing it loud and sing it clear.
'

In the great tradition of new year, when the calender clicks over into another year, it feels to us like the end of a book in a series or saga, and we ponder whether we enjoyed the last one enough to start another....Then realise we may as well, as the alternative sucks. Its lucky I am such a cheery, optimistic person, eh? :)
It is indeed time for reflection, and hope. For all the things put off, to be achieved, and life to be a little easier on this years turn of the dial.
Sad to say I have broken all my resolutions, but there's always next year. :)

Certainly a thought worth pondering over Christine. We all make resolutions that are hardly ever kept ..all made with good intent. I make a list every year then cross off all I have kept and of course repeat the resolutions.
