Today Chris i noticed my miniature daffies all have yellow buds just waiting to burst open, they have been peeking through for a while but now i can see the yellow from my window..
A lovely poem to describe how hardy plants are, even delicate ones somehow manage that long cold sleep of hibernation, nature is fascinating how she recovers and re-biths herself..

This is poetry dear Chris. I had to read a few times. The wonder of nature. New life, new flowers in the Spring. Thank you dear Chris for sharing the amazing poetry.

Aww, lovely write Chris, of what is just around the corner, but feels like an eternity away, as we grumble and moan, stomping around with our heads down because nature, for the millionth time, has forgotten to get that bloody thermostat fixed and leaving us all wondering if she is trying to freeze-dry people.
On the plus side though, at least we're not the poor frozen worm :)

Plus the fact I don't want to be eaten by worms:) On the positive side I have my first daffodils. That's good. Thank you.

"And then the thrill in early spring, we'll bring to you, we'll dance for you in thickened clumps. We are your promised daffodils." Oh yes...the beautiful daffodils and tulips...th first to bloom in my garden and what a welcomed sight they are. I love your poem my dear. ~Sharon

So pleased you enjoyed my words Sharon. Your visit most appreciated. Thank you.
love the personification and imagery in this ode to spring and the seeds that long to come up when the time is ripe..and i am also reminded of Lionel Richie here...and the seeds singing background as the Commodores...."we are the sun, we are the rain"---
it is really getting old here...the grey days.

If I were to take this personally I would say it is rubbing it in.
Our Daffodils had appeared and then an uncharastically cold spell arrived with snow and freezing weather and the the daffies have suffered badly as did our long gone cherry blossoms.

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
