Spooky biscuits. I just read Jacobs latest before this and got serious deja vu. Love those little coinkidinks life throws at us.
Can so relate to this Chris. I grew up in an area where an invisible street boundary lay, separating us havenots from the haves. That's where all the posh birds came from, just like swans. They loved us bad boys. Ah, happy days

Taking this at face value (?) it reminds me of a recent news broadcast that showed all the automobile traffic on a main artery stopping to let about 30 geese cross the road 'in the crosswalk'
Love those nature things

I love word economy because it forces the reader to look inward for meaning, making everything they read a part of them if only for a moment.

Ironically, I have no idea what this poem probably really means besides swans. I still liked it though.

Swans are a bird I have only ever seen from afar. I suppose that makes them all the more alluring. Your poem also has that effect because it skirts around the subject and through other words makes the image of them bloom in our minds.

A lovely haiku, Chris. Your river days are full of the stuff of daydreams. I'm really enjoying your river poems.

Another beautiful Haiku moment dear Chris. You have a wonderful talent for this style! Your poetic calligraphy shows me the lovely brushstrokes of your “armada” of swans... Excellent write!

I imagined swans doing a graceful dance on a glass-like water surface. You've painted quite a picture in three short lines. Lydi**
