i think of '83

dancing in the dark

there were sparks flying then

there were bush fires blazing

there were wild fires spreading

our world was alight

flames roared high

In the summer of 83 I was six, having completed my first year of kindergarten at parochial school I was overjoyed to cast off my itchy uniform and dance on the braided rug of our living room to Casey Kasems top 40.... Thanks for taking me back. I'll be streaming some Springsteen this morning!

Ah youth, I remember it well.
Ps... I was more Paul Weller at that time, bit everyone knew all the Boss' words 😀

Thank you Lale. Quite alot happened that year. It was a good one for me, but I also remember it for the Australian Bush fires which were devastating. Thank you so much for your visit.
