Rejuvenated

Rejuvenated

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

( we have certainly had our fair share of)

"
from darkest cloud came sheets of rain
relentless in its mad pursuit
to bounce with vigour off the deck
to stream like rivers from the roof

to overflow where gutters hung
to pool and drain upon the path
content to fill our empty pots
displaying all its misplaced wrath

while clothes left soggy on the line
could not be wetter that's for sure
then when you thought it had to stop
it laughed and rained a whole lot more

by then i had a sudden urge
completely taken by surprise
i felt compelled to run outside
and dance beneath the crying skies

i danced for joy, i danced for life
as warm refreshing flowing free
this waterfall of cleansing love
brought out the childish fun in me

haha very cute
summer rain is fun (especially warm rain) to at least temporarily switch off summer's excess heat but if it becomes habit-forming, it definitely loses its appeal
sounds like you are getting more than your share but it does keep everything green and growing
appreciate that energy while you still have enough to run amuck
we have had a wetter than ordinary spring/summer here which has resulted in a ton of plant growth

LOL I have not done that in years but this reminds me once when I was a kid I remember riding my bike in a hot summer rain and loving it I came home all covered in mud and soaked to the gills much to my mothers dismay but it was fun

Pleased it's that and not the other one Bunny. Get well soon.
Unlike those half-empty, half-full glasses, local gardens appear to have had their thirst well-slaked.
Enjoyed the fact that you, suddenly, came to view the long rains much more positively.
A far more pleasant and useful perspective.
Delightful poem, charming child-at-heart.

Having recently come in from a summer downpour, I can identify with this one. Very well rhymed, it illustrates how nature in its fulness can make us forget the restraints and worries of ordinary life and just rejoice in what is. If more could find such moments as the one in this poem, it might drive the shrinks out of business.

Is England under attack by secret chines spybot clouds? You are the third to mention monster rain and its been fair dazzlin up here for the most part.
Two washes out this weekend that dried in an hour and has left my house smelling like sunday nights during summer, where bedsheets smell awesome and are scientifically guarenteed to give you happynightnightdreamysleeps.
Grass has all been cut and fallen branches thrown in the chipper, so this place is like someone took the worlds biggest glade plug in and plugged it into a tree 😀
Hope you put on some bright yellow wellies and jumped in puddles.
If you do it when a kids watching, you will be their hero for life 😀
