shallow breathing

they wait

with patience

praying for

resurrection

till once again

they resurface

into clean air

gasping

rubbing their eyes

with surprise

to find

black ink printed

on a page

for all to see

in the warm light

of a new day

Today coyote reviewed two of my old poems I forgot I had written
It’s nice to see them come to life again. Just be aired and see the light of day even for a few minutes
Like looking at a. Old photo album faded pages and shining eyes

Stumbling upon old poems is like finding hidden treasures. I revisit mine from time to time

Gathering dust is a great image and image them being dusted off and opened with black ink glowing golden in the sunlight

Old poem airing once again, and that too creates another new poem.... What a talent! I am not too old in this cafe , and thus when I get to see your old poems from your archive I feel blessed and grateful to you. As without this airing I would have missed the opportunity to read those gems! But I can't say that for my own poems.... As I feel they were childish:)). But your last line is very true in the sense that a poem needs to re read at least one more time afterwards as with new eye we can see another aspect and perspective from that old poem...... This poem is for treasure

I've just recycled a load of note books cos I kept on going through them thinking I might've missed something. No such luck.
