Echoes Of Lavender

Echoes Of Lavender

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(a revamped poem)

"
mist rises as newly birthed disc
of sun kisses easterly horizon's cheek
promising heightened heat on a
sultry summer day

clouds like chariots fly past at rapid
speed in a part blue sapphire sky
hurtling on a journey to certain
dissipation

we walk waist high through scented
spikes of  fragrant purple lavender
alive with a charm of worker bees
buzzing busily at the seams

he asks me if this is a touch of heaven
I don't know I replied though when I
die if it echoes what we share here
then maybe dreams become reality

A wonderful place. And someone to share it with. How better to spend a summer day? Reminds me of numerous rides with a girlfriend when I was younger. Parking our bikes by the creek. Thanks for the memories, my friend. Beautiful words and images of a simpler time.

Love the opening stanza and the ending was poignant and loving. Such a good piece. I love lavender and the bees could care less you are among them. Great imagery

Hi Chris, your gentle words paint such a beautiful image within the mind. This is a dream that fills the senses. If such a place could be, there I would wish to be. As I read, I feel such joy and peace. Have a wonderful Friday. Hugs always....Mike.

This was one and an enjoyable read especially with continual days of rain here hammering down any flower brave enough to still take a peek

Love your creative imagery here. Reminds me of when I am in the garden & I end up smelling like rosemary or lavender after brushing up against it while watering! (((HUGS)))
