wow, where did this come from:) what a delightful dream of a poem dear Chris! I clicked on this cause I love the smell of pine but I wasn't expecting this poem... what a fun trick! I would of course want to jump into the air and join them all "bunny-like" but alas I'm no spring bunny anymore LOL so I guess I would have to wait

I have been fascinated with fireflies for such a long time but have never seen them in the flesh so to speak. It will also be the first anniversary of my mum!s passing tomorrow , so she is on my mind. I guess the two pointed my muse in this direction. Really pleased you stopped by.

Thank you Pauline. Pleased you enjoyed the read. All good here, hope the same for you x
I like it! I know that is not much of a review, but I don't have much experience with poetry. I'm starting classes next week for my MFA in Creative Writing, and there are a few poetry classes I have to take, so I will be reading a lot of poems to help myself learn. Thank you for sharing!

Timelessness of heaven's potential...This would be an unbelievable celebration of their souls, plus the everlasting scent of pine, which I love...( have all the the candles)... you dear Chris have an amazing imagination to have put this creative poem together....and it would be memorialized forever.....

The solitude of a forest of pine trees, hearing the wind rustle gentle through the needles, an occasional pinecone falling and fireflies, tiny points of light that flicker and flitter about while we imagine they are long past loved ones. How soothing is that? Beautiful Chris.

dearest chris. i am in awe of this piece and all of its splendor and magnificence. my mouth hung open as i read. it shot an emotional arrow straight to the bullseye of my heart. if this doesn't lift the spirit then i don't know what ever would. from the title and everything on down. powerfully spiritual, uplifting and enlightening. i will proudly shelve this for dark times. bravo. outstanding ... :)

So pleased that these words spoke to you. I have only ever seen fireflies on tv, but even that, I found a spiritual experience. They fascinated me with their light in a forest of darkness. A little bit of heaven. A big thank you.

I don’t get that trying to access other poet’s library
I'll keep imagining this if I ever land up alone in a pine forest. It's going to help me feel relaxed.
Ahh the visuals! So beautiful that I'm awestruck.

What a gorgeous image of souls here. I love the incorporation of light and the recycling of life in this as well. The idea of souls lighting the dark is not only beautiful but profound and appropriate for souls. A really moving piece of work, I really enjoyed.

I think if this was to be true, that pine forest would be the brightest place on earth. Millions upon millions of fireflies congregating and celebrating the lives that were once lived. It made me think of reincarnation and I suppose returning as a firefly is not all that bad an idea.
This poem reminds me of something written in a moment of daydreaming thought. Completely out of the blue yet an idea that creates a lasting image of the possibility of what heaven could be.
Intriguing idea, well expressed.

I just imagined the brilliance of the flickering lights in their magnitude. I also love fairy lights and have them at home too. All year round, not just at Christmas. Thank you for your visit and thoughts, very much appreciated.
You have my tears, my heart, my soul into this dearest Chris... someone who knows, understands and feels the divine of pine' scent, and write it in that sublimity way is a Golden Soul.

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
